A little after 2 AM this morning, Pop was swallowed up in life (2nd Corinthians 5:4). He went home to be with Jesus peacefully, with his wife, sons, and daughters standing by; leaving a legacy of faith and honesty that I am personally not sure I can come close to living up to. He set the bar very high in life and in death. We love you Pop and we will see you soon.
Praise God! I am so glad he is now home! He ran a great race up till the very end. What a pleasure and privilege it was to have Jim as a friend. Isn't it a great promise and comfort that we will see him again!
ReplyDeleteAmen. I am sorry for the loss of your father and husband. But I also now how much Jim was wanting this time to come and how excited he is right now. As much as he loves everyone he has left, if given the choice right now between heaven and coming back, he would choose heaven. We will all see him again. I will miss him very much, but look forward to being reunited with him one day. My prayers are with you all.
ReplyDeleteIt is well! Rejoicing with you that Jim is now face to face with Jesus. I feel very fortunate to call Jim my friend. He has been such an inspiration to me. I know we will all miss him, but look forward to the day when we will see all our loved ones that have gone before us again. Praying for God to bless you peace and comfort.
ReplyDelete"It is well, God is Good"
ReplyDeleteHe wanted what God wanted....and God wanted him home. I can't even imagine the rejoicing that is going on in heaven. To God be the glory for the great things He has done. Thank You, Lord, for the promise of salvation through Jesus.----Thank you,Chris and Jim, for your faithfulness in keeping us updated. All of you will continue to be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a privilege it has been to walk through these last precious, very personal days with all of you. All Glory goes to God for Jim's amazing testimony during such dark days - as I know Jim would want it to be. We continue to send prayers for overwhelming peace in the midst of such loss, and joy in the sharing of memories and stories. Much love from the Bennetts.
ReplyDeleteHe did set the bar very high- a very Godly man. There was never any question about what he believed in and what he stood for. Thank you all for sharing him with us. I am blessed to have known him and to watch you, his sons grow into very Godly men also. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteHonest Jim - that what we called him. He was honest with us and honest with himself. He shared his faith and fears with all of us and made it easy to accept his passing. We can only hope that we face our fate with dignity and honesty that Jim did. What a great example of life well lived. Praise God for men like Jim.
ReplyDeleteDitto to all above - thank you keeping us updated. We know it was difficult at times to do. Jim's legacy will live on in his family who showed amazing grace through of all this - he was blessed with a loving wife and two wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws and their children. God is good. Prayers will be said for God's comforting touch to surround you all as you face the days ahead but know you all know it is well
